Hello everyone! This week, I thought I’d give you a few band recommendations. My musical taste varies greatly, a little bit of rock, alternative and indie, sometimes pop, and everything in between. So, without further ado, here are 5 bands to definitely give a listen.
Knox Hamilton
Based out of Little Rock, Arkansas. Knox Hamilton, with their new album. The Heights has been at the top of my playlist. If you enjoy indie/alternative style music, you would most likely love this percussive, Phoenix sounding band. They are often what I listen to on the bus in the morning, because the melodic songs put me in a much better mood for the day ahead. It is nearly impossible to be sad and listen to Knox Hamilton, because the music is so lively upbeat. Two of my favorite songs are “Never my Love”, a cover of the old classic by The Association, and “Rightfully So”
Colony House
I saw Colony House live for the first time when they opened for Switchfoot, and was immediately captivated by the energy their music carried. Their music is very complex, similar to the songs of U2 or Cold War Kids. Their Lyrics are beautiful as well. Seeing them live, with the lights and non-stop dancing has made me appreciate their music even more. Some songs to listen too are “1234”, “Lonely” and “Waiting for My Time to Come”.
The Head and the Heart
The Head and the Heart had a soft, indie and folk sounding music, and is perfect for when I’m looking for something mellower to listen too. I regularly play The Head and the Heart while doing homework or writing, because it helps me think without urging me to get up and sing and dance. The first song I heard of theirs was “Let’s Be Still”, and my more recent favorite is “Library Magic”
Vinyl Theatre
Vinyl Theatre is another indie-rock band (hmmm…sensing a pattern?) from Wisconsin. Sharing a record label with bands such as twenty one pilots, their last two albums, Origami and Elecrogram have an electronic, rock feel. Their music is catchy and is always put on dance playlists. Two of their songs to listen to: “If You Say so” and “New Machines”.
Relient k
Relient k has been around for a while, and was one of the bands frequently played in my house when I was younger. With the release of their new album, Air for Free, I started to listen to them again, and fell in love with their music all over again. The songs “Local Construction” and “Cat” are some of my favorites because of the piano and bounce their music has.
I hope you enjoyed this list and find some new bands to listen to! Comment below some of your favorite bands.
I used to listen to Relient K all the time when I was younger too. My favorite album would have to be Mmhmm. Love your taste in music! 💕

I’m a fan of your recommendations. Last month I saw Colony House with a pretty cool friend, still can’t get “You Know It” out of my head.
